The Meadville Area Free Clinic (MAFC) opened in 1997 to provide free medical care to Crawford County area residents who do not have health insurance. Care is available for adults, ages 16 - 64. Our clinic is guided by board approved policies according to Commonwealth of PA for Free Clinics.
The MAFC is staffed almost entirely by volunteers including medical professionals such as physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, pharmacists, and other dedicated individuals who generously offer time and talents to serve over 700 patients annually.
The Meadville Area Free Clinic is partially supported by the United Way and Marquette Savings Bank. Major funding of our operations depends on the kind support we receive from grants and communty donations.

Your donation helps make quality healthcare accessible to neighbors who may otherwise go without the support they need.
Between 2022 - 2024, 14,738 uninsured residents visited Meadville Medical Center's Emergency Department because they had nowhere else to go. Research shows 68% of these visiits were non-urgent that could have been managed in primary care.
That is where we come in. We keep people healthy, out of the ER, and connected to the care they need. Our electronic health records track patient progress. Our volunteer team provides continuity.
